Background Checks

You will receive an email inviting you to submit your background check to us if you are over 18 and you do not have a background check on file through My Back Check. These emails will be sent in advance of your clinic date and need to be completed by the clinic. 

If you have not received this link please email our VP Member Services to confirm your registration on RAMP, and contact information.

If you have questions regarding the background or want to discuss anything relating to one that has been completed please email our Privacy Officer.

Why does the ALRA require background checks?

Background checks are mandatory for those over 18 to ensure that we are supporting a safe enviroment for all participants in the sport. 

 

How long is my background check valid for?

3 years

 

I have a background check from a previous season on My Back Check...

If the background check is within the past 3 years, there is an option to 'View and Share' the background check, please ensure you have done so following the step by step guides. 

 

I have a background check through another provider, will the ALRA accept this?

No, there will be no exceptions to completing the background check on My Back Check as these results need to be shared with the ALA as part of our process in registering officials.

 

I work in a setting that I cannot have a criminal record, can I avoid the check?

No, there will be no exceptions, everyone over 18 must have a valid criminal record check on file through My Back Check. 

 

I turn 18 during season, how do I complete a background check?

You as the official should let us know this, and you will be sent an invitation to complete a background check once you are 18 to be allowed to continue officiating.
